Pharmacological action
(pharmacodynamics)

Testosterone Cypionate is a slow-acting injectable androgen testosterone. After application it provides a sustained delivery of the active component into the bloodstream for approximately 2 to 3 weeks.

Directions:

Testosterone Cypionate is indicated to replace normal testosterone levels in adult males who have low androgen levels. It may also be used in the treatment of undescended testicles and delayed puberty in adolescent males.

Interactions with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction:

1. Oral anticoagulants: Testosterone and its derivatives increase the activity of oral anticoagulants derived from coumarins. People on anticoagulant therapy will need close monitoring during the use of testosterone.

2. Other interactions:
Concomitant administration of testosterone with ACTH or corticosteroids may promote the formation of edema. These active ingredients should be administered with caution in people with liver or heart disease or predisposition to edema.
Interaction with laboratory tests: Androgens may decrease levels of thyroxine-binding globulin, decreasing total serum levels of T4 and increasing the uptake of T3 and T4 resin. However, thyroid hormone levels will remain unchanged, and there will be no clinical evidence of thyroid dysfunction.

Fertility, pregnancy and breastfeeding:

Testosterone replacement therapy can reversibly reduce spermatogenesis.

Testosterone is not indicated for use in women and should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Adverse reactions:

The most frequently reported adverse reactions during treatment with Testosterone are acne and pain at the injection site.
Suspected anaphylactic reactions have been reported following injection of Testosterone .
Androgens may accelerate the progression of subclinical prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Overdose:

In case of overdose, no special therapeutic measures are necessary, except to stop treatment with the drug or reduce the dose.

Incompatibility :

In the absence of compatibility studies, this medicine should not be mixed with other medicines.

Special precautions for disposal and other handling:

Testosterone Cypionate 250  mg/ml is a sterile supersaturated solution composed of GSO, Benzyl Alcohol and Benzyl Benzoate. The high concentrations of active components make the product very susceptible to crystallization when exposed to temperatures below the recommended range (20°C to 25°C or 68°F to 77°F) or high atmospheric pressures.

-The product may be heated and mixed to reconstitute the active component, if necessary.

-Perform the procedure slowly by immersing the still sealed vial in hot water, never over direct heat, until the product dissolves again.

– Bring the medicine to a temperature below 35°C to be applied.

NOTE: Crystallization and heat exposure have no impact on the efficacy, quality or safety of the product if done properly.
